Reflecting on our joyful afternoon of laughter, connection and fearless swings at our Hit n Giggle event last Sunday

Our February Ignite gathering saw members swap laptops, school lunches and busy schedules for golf clubs, costumes and a beautiful afternoon of connection at Target Golf in Forth.

Hit & Giggle was designed to be exactly what the name suggests. A light hearted chance to try something new, laugh at ourselves and spend time together in a relaxed outdoor setting. And it absolutely delivered.

From the moment guests arrived, the deck was buzzing with chatter, bright outfits and excited anticipation. Platters filled with fresh treats kept everyone fuelled while sparkling drinks and sunshine set the tone for an easygoing afternoon.

Once the games began, the real magic unfolded.

Some members surprised themselves by hitting targets with confidence. Others completely missed the ball and laughed just as hard. A few proudly pulled off dramatic victory poses after successful shots, while determined bingo players quietly worked their way toward a win. Across the bays, team chants echoed and cheer squads formed naturally, reminding us that Ignite events are never about competition but about encouragement and shared joy.

The costume element added another layer of fun, with prizes celebrating creativity, humour and pure joyful energy. From first timers embracing “never played golf before” vibes to standout team spirit moments, every prize reflected the playful heart of the afternoon.

What stood out most, however, was not the golf itself.

It was the laughter.

It was the conversations.

It was the simple yet powerful act of switching off from weekly responsibilities and stepping into meaningful fun.

Moments like these are more than social gatherings. They are opportunities for emotional wellbeing, connection and community care. Taking time to laugh, move our bodies and be present with each other is a powerful tool for the soul.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our incredible committee for bringing the day together, with a special mention to Theresa, who hosted and thoughtfully planned the event alongside Claire, ensuring every detail supported the relaxed and playful spirit of the afternoon. Thank you also to Kat for the beautiful catering that kept everyone nourished and chatting between swings, and to Pete for guiding the golfing action. Most importantly, thank you to every member who showed up with openness, enthusiasm and fabulous outfits.

As always, Ignite magic lives in the people who walk through the door.

We left Hit & Giggle feeling lighter, more connected and reminded that joy does not need to be complicated. Sometimes it is simply friends, fresh air, a golf club and permission to laugh.
